eMarketing Course, Word Of Mouth Conference, Blog Seminar and Optimizing E-mail For Better Results Roundtable

It’s going to be a crazy time for Marketers in Canada looking for better ways to understand the Digital Marketing landscape, and you have the CMA – Canadian Marketing Association – to thank for it.
First off, there is a “last call” of sorts for the eMarketing Course which is taking place in Montreal. The professional certificate course is a fourteen-week program. We meet weekly for two-and-a-half hours, and it’s starting Tuesday, February 20th, 2007. I say “we” because I am the lead instructor for this course in Quebec, and if you’re interested, the course is also being given in Toronto.

Next up, I have been working with a tireless organizing group that is being led by Sean Moffit of Buzz Canuck and Agent Wildfire along with Louis Gagnon from Monster.ca for the upcoming CMA Word of Mouth Marketing conference called: From Mass To Grass. From Mass To Grass – Word of Mouth Marketing Conference is taking place Thursday, April 12th, 2007 in Toronto at the Holiday Inn on King. The two main keynotes will be Jackie Huba – Co-Author of Citizen Marketers and Blogger over at Church Of The Customer along with Kyle MacDonald – yes, the guy who managed to trade his One Red Paperclip all the way up to a house. He also managed to secure a book and movie deal along the way.
Other guest speakers include brands like Nike, HarperCollins Canada, lululemon athletica and Evian alongside people like David Jones from the Inside PR Podcast and PR Works Blog, Bill Sweetman from Sweetmantra and the Marketing Martini Podcast, and Douglas Walker from Webwalker Blog and the World Rock Paper Scissors Society, Toronto.

My full-day seminar, Blogs: A Marketers’ Secret Weapon, makes its way back to Toronto on Thursday, March 8th, 2007. It takes place from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. By the end of this seminar, you’ll pretty know everything I do about Blogs, Blogging, Podcast, Podcasting and how to be an effective Blog Marketer. It’s literally everything from why a company should Blog to how to set-up a Blog to the power of Blog Marketing. I have a small piece on Podcasting and how to promote your Podcast – both audio and video.

There will also be a breakfast roundtable event called: Optimizing E-mail For Better Results. I thought the date of Optimizing E-mail For Better Results was set for Wednesday, March 7th, 2007 in Toronto, but it’s not listed on the website. This breakfast roundtable will feature Michael Seaton from Scotiabank and The Client Side along with Sulemaan Ahmed from Sears Travel who is also a regular contributor to the Canadian Marketing Blog and One Degree along with a host of others. This breakfast is an initiative of the Digital Marketing Council of the CMA – Canadian Marketing Association (of which I used to sit on). The CMA will also be releasing the latest CMA Guide to E-mail Marketing – 2007 Edition.

Lots of great events, content and conversations taking place. If you’re planning on taking part in any of these, please let me know. I would love to meet up.
