1. Truth! I remember reading somewhere that the best first question to ask is “What metric are we trying to improve?” It forces the leadership team to look at the data to derive insights that backup the emotional reasons for change.

  2. Amen! Influencing folks to take that breath and step back, while keeping a smile on their face and not feeling defensive is an art… and I often paint like picaso (in a BAD way). The leaders who often bring these things to the table are charismatic, enthusiastic and feel inspired that they have a great way to change the world so to ease them into knowing their doing the “grass is greener” thing isn’t easy and must be done.
