I got a press release announcing a membership drive by a new group called The Search Marketing Association Of North America (SMA-NA). It seems like they are doing a big push for memberships starting now. The SMA-NA is “an association for people and companies involved in the study, promotion and practice of search engine marketing.”
I’m all for getting involved in one’s own industry and I’m also a huge advocate in taking a leadership role. If this is of interest to you, you can look into the different rates at the link below. The other upshot is that the Search Marketing Association Of North America is having official elections to their Board Of Directors scheduled for early Fall 2005. Only active members are eligible to be nominated to the Board and can vote in the election.
It’s really not as complicated as this sounds, and if you’re working in the search engine marketing or optimization space, the Search Marketing Association Of North America might be the ideal place to get involved in your community.
