Episode #185 of Six Pixels of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast is now live and ready for you to listen to. It’s also episode #23 of Media Hacks.

We have the whole gang present (with the exception of Chris Brogan who was too busy at CES – lucky guy!). Along with some interesting/new New Year announcements, we deep dive on the Nexus One (aka the Google Phone) which leads us into a deep conversation about data, information and the great race towards a mobile society. We also look at all of the hooplah at CES over e-readers (a topic that is near and dear to all of our hearts). As if that were not enough, we also discuss the value of content (and its perceived value) in a world where everybody wants everything for free. Enjoy the conversation…

  1. I think everyone is trying to catch up to apple and all sorts of devices are making an attempt to capture an audience. In the end I think the tablet computer makes a lot of sense in that it will be a hybrid of everything currently on the market. Its more ergonomically designed for human interaction and see no reason why it couldn’t function as a cell phone either, you can just have an accessory ear piece. I think the cell phone will die from the standpoint of ergonomics, its just too small!

  2. Peter, I disagree with you on this one. The mobile phone is the size of the human hand… it’s extremely natural. The ergonomics just need to get better.
Sorry, I’d type more right now but I’m on my iPhone and it’s a pain in the ass. 😉

  3. Julien, you just proved my point !
Cellphones will still be around but as anything in the technology world, it becomes transparent to the user and most likely will be the size of a dime in 5-10 years in which case no need to carry one around. Natural user interfaces will flourish and tablets even more.
