Episode number three of Foreword Thinking – The Business And Motivational Book Review Podcast, presented by HarperCollins Canada and hosted by yours truly is now available for download. The additional good news is that iTunes finally woke up and added Foreword Thinking to their Podcast directory (I guess they wanted to make sure we had more than two episodes in the can).
In episode number three of Foreword Thinking, I’m in conversation with Richard Laermer and Mark Simmons from the book, Punk Marketing. As you can hear, these guys are having too much fun.
Punk Marketing is described as follows from their website:
“The revolution is here, so get on the right side of the barricade and become a part of it. Let’s thank Mr. And Mrs. Consumer and their little Consumerlings who have seized power from the corporations and are now firmly in control.
In Punk Marketing, published by venerable HarperCollins, Laermer and Simmons take an irreverent penetrating look at the seismic change in the relationship between people who sell stuff – products, services, entertainment – and those who purchase it. They demonstrate that to survive in business, a revolutionary approach is needed – one they have branded ‘Punk Marketing’ – and it’s one we all need to understand for the traditional divisions among commerce, content and consumers are continuing to blur ever more rapidly.”
It’s a fun read that is not solely focused on online marketing and social media channels. Laermer and Simmons have experience in both advertising and PR and look at an overall new ethos for how to get more creative in advertising and marketing.
