CaseCamp And Eli Singer – I'm Kicking Myself

Posted by

After spending time in Toronto at DemoCamp a couple of months back – you can read my posting on it here: DemoCamp – TorCampDemoCamp5 Toronto – A Virgin Deflowered – I was smitten with the idea of bringing a BarCamp or DemoCamp to Montreal. I’ve even had preliminary discussions with a handful of Montreal Digerati about it. But, as always, life has been keeping us all busy (and from posting the first date on a Wiki).
I just got an email from Ken Schafer over at One Degree with a link to his posting: CaseCamp – BarCamp For Marketers?
It turns out that Eli Singer came up with the idea for CaseCamp, which he describes as:
“CaseCamp is a marketing oriented unconference inspired by David Crow and BarCamp. It’s open to anyone and completely free.
CaseCamp is about telling stories. Presenters, following The Rules of CaseCamp, share case studies of their work. The goal is to create a commons for discussion, learning and networking.”
I’m kicking myself for not thinking about this first. I’m blown away with how Eli connected the dots between BarCamp – DemoCamp and new marketing. It’s a simple concept… and that’s what makes it brilliant.
Eli and I already exchanged emails – so look for a CaseCamp Montreal date in the coming weeks.
If you would like to help and get the word out about CaseCamp Montreal, please let me know.
The first CaseCamp Toronto takes place on Tuesday, June 13 at 6:00 pm. You can view the full details here: CaseCamp Toronto.
