My friends: Alistair Croll (Solve for Interesting, Tilt the Windmill, HBS, chair of Strata, Startupfest, FWD50, and Scaletechconf; author of Lean Analytics and some other books), Hugh McGuire (Rebus Foundation, PressBooks, LibriVox) and I decided that every week the three of us are going to share one link for one another (for a total of six links) that each individual feels the other person “must see.”

- These labs are remarkably diverse — here’s why they’re winning at science – Nature. “There’s strong scientific evidence that groups which come up with several solutions to a problem, then compare them, do much better than groups that adopt the first solution they stumble across. In the course that I teach on data science, we discuss how some companies intentionally hire people who their algorithmic vetting refused, to better test their hiring models and correct for drift. And in science, diverse labs get better outcomes. Tribal affinity might have helped us fight when we were living in caves, but to solve modern problems we need all the help that we can get. Diversity is the right thing to do; it’s even better that it rewards those who embrace it.” (Alistair for Hugh).

I’m not sure how I would feel about my home suddenly becoming a tourist destination and party central for street art culture. You?” (Mitch for Alistair).
- The Bleak Brilliance of Nick Drnaso’s Graphic Novels – The New Yorker. “Such an amazing piece about a fascinating graphic novelist. I also (naturally) love the Montreal connection (congrats to the Drawn & Quarterly team). Some people think this is some of the finest in book publishing. Many have never heard of Nick Drnaso – until now! (h/t to Rishad Tobaccowala).” (Mitch for Hugh).
