Blogs – A Marketers' Secret Weapon – Date Change For Toronto Seminar

Special thanks to Andra over at the CMA – Canadian Marketing Association – for helping me with a scheduling conflict. The new date for the Toronto seminar of Blogs – A Marketers’ Secret Weapon is Monday, November 27th, 2006 from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. Yes, this is a full day session where I break down everything from whether or not your company should Blog to how to understand the space to how to set-up a Blog. The original date was on the Tuesday, but we’re all sorted out now and Monday it is.
This is how the CMA website describes the seminar:
“Blogs are quickly becoming a marketers’ secret weapon or worst nightmare. Join us for an interactive look at how to set-up and manage a successful Blog. In this full-day session you will get specific insight into the basics and beyond, including how content can be developed for a Blog that will build tremendous buzz. You’ll learn why trackbacks, permalinks and pinging (Blog-talk for linking and link sharing) is not only easy and simple but highly effective. We’ll also look at how a corporate website can find the right ‘voice’ to create a powerful Blog, and you will see how, within 48 hours, we managed to get our keyphrase of choice on the first page of Google for a term that returned over 1,000,000 results. We will also breakdown and explain the technology of it all, including RSS, XML and the many other Blogging technologies that make ‘personal instant publishing’ one of the easiest ways to build buzz, loyalty and rocket to the top of the search engines. This is your marketing primer on Blogs.”
Because of the date change, I will be adding in a special bonus section on Podcasting (both audio and video). If time permits, we’ll record a group Podcast and publish it.
I have also had some initial emails back and forth with David Jones from Fleishman Hillard, who is also a co-host for the Podcast, Inside PR, and maintains his own Blog, PR Works, about joining in as a special guest (truth be told, I’m hoping this Blog posting will guilt him into the gig 😉
Final note (and this is the entire truth): I’ve poured everything I know from the past three and a half years of Blogging into this. When the seminar is over, you’ll know everything I know. All that’s left is to do is to do it, experience it and join the conversation.
Feel free to shoot me any questions or suggestions, and if you’re in Toronto, I’ll hope you’ll join me.
