Digital Marketing Conference 2006 – Day Two

Day two of the CMA – Canadian Marketing AssociationDigital Marketing Conference 2006 and the excitement continues to build. This morning is being kicked-off by C.C. Chapman on the topic of Podcasting. C.C. and I met in the hotel lobby at 7:30 am to head over to the venue. On any given day this early morning rise would not be an issue, but we had a late night. Joseph Jaffe, the Inside PR guys (David Jones and Terry Fallis), Mark Evans, Stuart MacDonald, Michael Seaton, Bryan Eisenberg and more Bloggers and Podcasters then you can shake an RSS feed at were invited to a private dinner. Good times.
C.C. killed it today – what an amazing presenter. It’s funny how a guy who just got into marketing gets it so naturally. Great content and the crowd was uber interactive. Much more than any other speaker – they were jumping in with great questions. One of the best questions was, “what is the Podosphere?” I think it made us all realize that sometimes we drink too much of our own Kool-Aid.
Another highlight was Joseph Jaffe closing out the day. His topic – the traditional interactive agency – took shot at what we’re doing, how we’re doing and what we need to be thinking about. As always, Jaffe was pithy, funny, irreverent and passionate.
Closing thought: I’ve been going to Toronto about three times a month for the past few years. This is the first time that I did not want to go back home to Montreal. I have vacation tomorrow and, again, I was so jazzed, that I just wanted to dive back in.
Special thanks goes out to Kiran and the whole professional staff of the CMA, who pulled together a great organizing committee (thanks for allowing me to be a part of it) and an incredible event.
We’re going to have a tough time topping it next year.
