BarCamp Montreal Ready To Roll On October 21st

There is lots of action happening over at the BarCamp Montreal wiki. The event date is set for Saturday, October 21st, 2006 from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm at 486 St. Catherine W., Suite 303. This gives us under four weeks to get self-organizing.
What is BarCamp?
According to the wiki:
“BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.
All attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one. All presentations are scheduled the day they happen. Prepare in advance, but come early to get a slot on the wall.
Presenters are responsible for making sure that notes/slides/audio/video of their presentations are published on the web for the benefit of all and those who can’t be present.
Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.
NO SPECTATORS, ONLY PARTICIPANTS!
When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.”
What gets talked about? It is mostly technology, the web and where this is all going. Presentation will be in both English and/or French (depending on the presenter’s preference).
As of today, there are about forty people who have self-registered. Let’s try to make the first BarCamp Montreal the huge success we all know it can be.
