PodCamp Toronto Is Just Around The Corner – February 23rd – 24th, 2008

Have you attended an unconference yet? Do you even know what an unconference is?

You should.

The unconference movement has been picking up serious steam over the past two years and Toronto is about to get the second PodCamp Toronto.

The dates are February 23rd – 24th, 2008 at Ryerson University.

Here’s why you should care: if you’re interested in Social Media – Web 2.0, Blogging and Podcasting, this is a community driven meet-up that is free. And here’s the promise: whatever questions you may have about the space will be answered there. Maybe not in the sessions, but in the hallways, at the bar and in the hotel lobby. Online social networks are exciting, but not half as exciting as real-life social networks, and PodCamp Toronto is when both worlds collide in a blaze of beauty.

The event is free to attend and it’s self-organizing – meaning you have to go to the PodCamp Toronto wiki to register yourself, and you can also give a session on whatever floats your boat – take a look at who’s already presenting here: PodCamp Toronto Sessions.

How good can it be if it’s free and self-organizing? Fair enough, let’s just say that anyone who is so passionate about a topic that they sacrifice their weekend to hang out at PodCamp Toronto is, clearly, the kind of person who has the right answers.

I wish I could be there, but I can’t I’m prepping that weekend for the Power Within in Halifax with Anthony Robbins and then I’m off to attend TED in Monterey. I’m not name dropping, just validating why I can’t make it to PodCamp Toronto (and trust me, it’s killing me).

So, head over to the wiki and sign-up. If you’ve been thinking about starting a Blog and Podcast yourself or have been grappling with how to present these concepts to your work, this weekend is the ultimate roadmap.

  1. Mitch you will be missed! Thanks for all your help and support.
Chris, so does that mean you’ll be back so we won’t be missing two critical signposts? ; )
We do have a great line up including Zero to Podcasting a special two-day track.

  2. Rob, I don’t see a ring on this finger 😉
I am really sad that I won’t be at PodCamp Toronto, but I would be sadder looking at two weeks out of the office. I simply can’t make that happen.
    Maybe next time?
